Veraison

We are near veraison, which is when the fruit stops focusing on berry size and begins ripening. It's fairly obvious in the vineyard, as the grapes will turn from green to their desired purple one by one. This is a significant time for growers. Until this point, a rigorous spraying schedule must be maintained every week to prevent any loss in fruit quality; however, veraison gives the fruit a natural resistance to most diseases.
