Our 2016 release, this Barbera was aged for 22 months in 50% new Francois Freres French oak barrels. This wine is made exclusively with MFV Estate Barbera, grown from our primary Barbera block.
This fruit forward Barbera boasts a juicy cherry forward flavor, which combined with the relatively low acidity and smoothness of the French oak barrel, makes this a very approachable Barbera, even for those unfamiliar with the varietal.
This wine won a Gold medal at the 2019 SF Chronicle International Wine Competition.
